The Next Available Class: The next available class is SUMMER 2010.  Please refer to the class calendar for the scheduled classroom days.  We will meet at 400 Dorset Street for the classroom sessions.

Fall/Winter/and Spring classes are held 3:45 - 5:45pm on Mondays and Thursdays.  Driving for SBHS students is scheduled during their free period.  Non-SBHS students are scheduled once a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday) from 3:45-5:45pm.
Summer classes
will be held from 8:00 - 10:00 am daily, and driving for two students will be scheduled either the 10:00-12:00 session or the 12:30-2:30 session ONCE a week. (4 students driving per day, 2 in each session, allows 20 students one drive per week for 6 weeks for their Vermont required driving time).

Preparation:  Getting a VT Driver's Permit: A Permit Study Guide:  This is a set of study questions for the student who is preparing to take the Vermont Learner's Permit written test.  This is a study guide based on the Vermont Driver's Manual.  Studying this manual will assure success in passing the written test for your permit.  An on-line quiz is available for you to practice your knowledge.  Take the link to the Practice Quiz Section.

The Next Step: Sign-up for Classes

The Application Process: Please download an Application and Policy Statement and send it to the address on the application.  Students will first be placed on a list and emailed to confirm an opening.  Class positions will be confirmed only upon full payment for the course.  Class size is limited so please send in your application early.  Students making an application MUST have their Vermont Learner's Permit prior to the first day of class and be able to commit to 50 additional hours of driving with an adult over 25 years old.  ( A month or two of driving on their permit prior to the class is strongly recommended.) Sign-ups may be made 3 months in advance.   As classes fill quickly, we can not promise an opening in your first choice of classes.  Applications are handled in a first-come first-served basis as outlined on the Driver Education of Vermont Class Application.

Enrolled Students: Course Materials: (Password Protected)  This section is devoted to setting an agenda for the course.  In this section you will find the course outline, homework and reading assignments, worksheets, Procedure Guides (hill start, turnaround, parallel parking, perpendicular parking.....)

Classes for the School Year

PLEASE NOTE: Summer Classroom ends BEFORE the driving ends
Driving occurs ONCE A WEEK  for SIX weeks

Classes during the school year are held at 400 Dorset St. on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:45 - 5:45 pm.   Driving will be scheduled on the first day of classes.   Sign-up for a Parent Night today - Most "Parent Nights" will be held on the first day of scheduled classes (6:00-7:30pm) except Summer Session.  Everyone is welcome, admission is free, but reservations help me better plan the evening.  "Parent Survival Guides" are free to enrolled students.

Classes during the SUMMER are also held at 400 Dorset Street Monday through Friday from 8:00 - 10:00 am.   Driving will be scheduled on the first day of class and will require a ONE DAY A WEEK commitment for a six (6) week timeframe.
