Photos of the 6 Reference Points
These photographs were taken of a 1998 Honda Civic LX. The photographer is
six feet tall. Adjustments for other drivers (height & seating position) and vehicles
need to be made. Do this exercise with ALL the vehicles you drive.

- Note reference points 1 and 2 in drawing above.
The location of the left tires track in a path
closely associated with the left headlight. The right tires tracks approximately in
the center of the hood. Some drivers may only see the windshield wipers - either
because of vehicle design or eye-level height of driver. Discover these points on
all your vehicles as it will assist in the driver's accuracy of lane position, tracking
ability, and "pot-hole avoidance" techniques!
